Traction Film Services was founded by director and filmmaker Jason Fry, whose career in film and commercial production spans more than two decades.

Jason studied Radio, Television and Film at the University of North Texas, where he developed a strong foundation in visual storytelling, directing, and production. His passion for filmmaking began during the era when projects were still captured on physical film, an experience that shaped his appreciation for both the creative and technical disciplines of the craft.

In 1999, Jason received his first ADDY Award, marking the beginning of a long career creating award-winning commercial work. Since then, he has continued to direct and produce projects across a wide range of genres and formats, with particular strengths in comedy, dialogue-driven storytelling, and short-form documentary production.

After relocating Traction Film Services to Brownsville, Texas, Jason expanded the company with a clear mission: to provide filmmakers throughout South Texas with greater access to professional production equipment, experienced support, and reliable local resources.

For many emerging filmmakers in the region, access to professional film equipment often required traveling outside the area. Traction Film Services was created in part to help close that gap by offering a local option for equipment, production support, and industry experience.

Today, Traction Film Services has grown beyond its original equipment and production-support roots into a full-service production company serving a broad range of clients. The company produces commercials, branded content, corporate video, documentary projects, narrative work, and other professional film and video productions.

From early development and pre-production through filming and final delivery, Traction Film Services approaches every project with an emphasis on strong storytelling, professional execution, and dependable production practices.

With decades of experience behind the camera and deep roots in the South Texas creative community, Traction Film Services continues to support both established clients and the next generation of filmmakers.

Experience behind every frame. Professional production rooted in South Texas.
